it means that once you think you have hit bottom in life, that is not the failure, the failure comes when you don't do anything about it, when you figure life can't get any better and you keep that mind set.
For example, i'm gonna use a personal one, Last sept i was doing great, then i lost my job, lost my tuition aid, and my gf broke up with me. Thought my life couldn't get any worse. Now i had two choices 1) be depressed and make everyone around me depressed "the failure" or 2) move on with life "not staying down" and have an optimistic attitude. Don't get me wrong i'm still not as happy as i was in Sept but i'm alot better than being depressed.
thats what i see in the meaning.

If you fail or fall and quit you have failed completely. If you fall and get up and try again you have hope of success. The only thing we ever learn from is failure. If you fall down after the first time and don't get up you have failed. True success involves multiple failures.

I think you mean "failure is not FALLING down." We all make misakes. We can choose to swim in them....refusing to rise from the occasion, or we can choose to learn from our mistakes and then carry on with that added wisdom. To make mistakes that we learn from so that we use that wisdom through life, that is not failure....it is experience. When we make a mistake and then allow that mistake to "define" us...."I am a horrible person, I am stupid, I will just hide my face and never surface again, etc." THAT my dear is failure.

failure is not falling but staying down, means everyone falls, but if you just lay there and wont get up again , thats when you have failed, falling is not a sin, everyone does now and then, but you have to get right back up and try again.

A gladiator knows death is certain if he remains down. Death is failure to him. Sometimes failure is not knowing how or what it takes to win. Getting up gives you another chance. Sometimes you have to dance around till you get the victory.

It's okay to "fall down" but failure is when you don't get back up and keep trying.

It means as long as you keep trying (keep standing up when you fall down) , you still have not failed. If you stop trying, ( staying down) then that is the time you have failed.

failing down is not a problem. it's getting up that is important.when you fall down, that does not immediately count as failure.but if after falling you did not attempt to stand up and try again, then that's failure.
