When I was young I too thought the brain was responsible for thinking.

After 43 more years of investigating this I have come to the conclusion that it is our MIND which does the thinking. However, in order to do this THINKING about our material life on a material planet, our MIND makes great use of the BRAIN as storage place for sensory data and even much data generated by thinking, thinking about abstract and non-material concepts, too.

Our brain enables us to speak, stores language and sights...

I am not a neurologist, nor have I been privileged to do that type of work. Nevertheless, I have learned some things about this, for sure:

MIND is above matter. There is also a MIND ministry which mostly involves people who "use their brain" as people tend to say.

MIND ministry begins in very early life. All MIND ministry falls under the auspices of The Holy Spirit and various helper sub-entities (lesser spirits and angels).

In fact, this is how all knowledge developed here on this world.

If there is any scientist who says it is not so, I would classify that scientist among the "educated ignorant."

The principal source of much about MIND is THE URANTIA BOOK, which has hundreds of pages of material on this as well as many other scientific topics.

If you do not discover this book until 20 years from now, you will wish that I had reached through the computer to knock my fist on your knee in making the point of the value of this particular book.

You will find also many great scientists, including neurologists, who agree with what I have said.

Even Plato and Francis Bacon left remarks on this subject.

Finally, I leave you with a key which will unlock much as you go through life, now and after life on earth:

Spirit dominates Mind, and Mind dominates Matter.

Matter cannot think. But it can be made into many tools by thinking minds. Our computers are the greatest tool of all, currently. The computers cannot really think, but they can store the results of intelligence and perform operations in accord with programs. So they store the intelligence of the programmer, and they are composed of materials. Computers are a homely analog of the brain.

And we could consider the flow of electrons to and fro as the "thinking" which a computer does. This is an energetic phenomenon, much less material.

I would have you think of the MIND as REAL, much less material, more energetic. MIND mediates between spirit and matter from the cosmic perspective.

Each person here has Body, Mind and Spirit, that is the WHOLE person, even the one which holistic physicians desire to treat, for best effect, rather than treating (solely) a 'body.'

However, if you destroy the brain, you destroy the tools which the mind needs to operate. You can do this partially, it happens as the result of injury. I believe there was a brain surgeon who wrote much about this, possibly named Wilder Penfield, a Canadian? There are others, and their observations would be of great interest to you.

Your question is very astute, not many people think about this....

I hope that I have helped.

Man discovered that he could think a very, very long time ago. But to the best of my knowledge, few people indeed have pinned it down anywhere near as well as I have indicated here.

And there will always be those who have not labored extensively over this, but who will instantly say, malarky (or whatever).

But you will eventually find out that what I have said is true!

I have spent a GREAT amount of time on this!

Thinking is nothing more than doing maths, so computers
already do this.
