It's important to realize that this menu inclues combination meals that can be served in a more chunky fashion when children are in the 10-12 month age range. So, if you're looking at this menu and your baby is still 6 months old, you'll need to make sure that you first slowly introduce some of these dishes abd graduate up to some of the ones that are chunkier in nature

Keep in mind that you learned in high school what particular teeth are needed for. The front teeth are used to pull food, but it takes 8 back teeth to grind food, no matter how soft or chunky. If we don't have these teeth to chew, then food is dropped into the tummy not properly prepared for the stomach to continue to grind. This can cause the colon then to push thru foods that can't be absorbed into the body properly, thus creating a damaged colon. So remember to feed baby only good foods that are pureed till he has his back teeth! Most good food you prepare for your family will be good. You can purchase a food processer or grinder and even freeze small amounts in ice trays then pop them out into freezer bags and then heat only what you need later. In my excitement to integrate my first born son to all the fun things of life, I started my table food and finger foods too soon. I learned later practical and sensible parenting. Be sure and listen to everyones advice but think for yourself. :) God Bless. Happy mothering!

You can feed your baby anythign really. I got a baby food grinder for my son. I would put in chicken breast, veggis, fruits anythign that you want to feed your child. Make sure it is healthy of course. You can make a nice healthy diet for your baby to enjoy with much better flavor lol. I am pasting a site on here so you can see what I am talking about. :) Hope this helps.

my son is 7 months, and on a typical day he eats at least 3 of these things (depending on what we fix him)

cheerios (dry, and fed to him one at a time. This one wasn't started until he got his first tooth).
Gerber freeze dried fruit chunks for babies
jarred baby food
spaghettio's
Mashed potatoes
Bread chunks dipped in beef or turkey gravy
plain macaroni noodles (with a little butter on them) cut in half to make them easier to chew and less likely for him to choke on.
cantaloupe or honeydew melon chunks (fed through one of those baby fruit strainers)
french fries (those are a rare treat for him)
small chunks of chicken
rice cereal mixed with gerber baby fruit juice or jarred fruits
scrambled eggs in small pieces
we also give him bites of our food, but only things that we know are healthy and easy to chew.

My son mostly eats baby food and breastmilk, still, but he gets 3 meals a day that are different, and we try to change them day to day. The only thing is that you HAVE to feed them ONE FOOD AT A TIME for TWO OR MORE DAYS to rule out any food allergies.

All babies love gerber biter biscuits, but make sure you watch closely, as some babies try to shove the whole thing in their mouths, which is a choking hazard if it has disolved down.

Good luck!

I have fed my baby anything I can! I mash almost everything I eat up and give it to her that way. I stay away from sugar, artificial stuff and food high in fat. I actually read that we are the only culture who is so obsessed with what babies eat. Other cultures start feeding thier babies what they eat as soon as they can eat solids.

Rice cereal is one of my favorites, but they make other types of cereals for babies too. By 6 months my babies ate almost what I did with a little creativity. She loved mashed banana, applesauce, I made her alot of fresh vegetables & mashed them down and added water to them.

you can do instant mashed potatoes watered down with extra milk, commercial applesauce no sugar added, heinz makes baby food, health food stores have baby food, you can do the rice cereal etc for babies, you can put cooked veggies in the blender, dont add salt or sugar to them, those are a few ideas anyway.

My daughter is 7 months old and I feed her almost everything I eat. I think babies should start eating off the table at 6 months. Start slowly though give your child some chicken small pieces, veggies, soups, etc,... and give her juice.. you can start your child off with applejuice.
