I don't dress very feminine at all, I'm a jeans and jacket type of girl. My boyfriend has asked me though to dress more feminine and I would like to surprise him. So how could I do that?
I'm not in the best shape though, I'm rather tall so it does balance out thank goodness.
I'm not comfortable with showing too much skin as well.

Have him take you shopping and try on some things he likes; he may even offer to buy some of the things he likes on you and have fun with him in the process.

Depending on how old you are, just wearing something considered a little more 'dressy', a slightly silky button-up blouse in a pastel shade, for example, can work as more feminine. Also, anything in general that's more fitted is considered more feminine. Steer away from crew neck shirts and anything exceedingly basic. Small details like gathering, interesting necklines, and 'different' types of sleeves (i.e. puffy or kimono sleeves) are great if you don't want to go all out with silk and lace and frilly stuff like that. It has to be something you like, remember! Look for thinner, softer, draping fabrics too. You don't have to revamp your entire wardrobe. Even just adding some jewelry to what you already wear will help make your overall appearance more feminine. Trying some shimmery make-up may help too. Just keep in mind to not try too hard and good luck!

Try to wear more dresses and skirts then pants. Pantyhose is feminine and classy if your thinking about for work. You could try more pastel colours or even just changing your hair and make up can work. Try wearing simpler prettier colours and wear your hear soft and flowing.
Remember not to dress for someone else. You are who you are and at the end of the day you have to like yourself and feel comfortable.
You can dress sexy without showing to much skin with flowing lite fabrics.
Experiment a little. Go shopping on your own when you've got plenty of time and try everything on.
Have fun, a change can make you feel like a million dollars but make sure your doing it for the right reasons.

Well this is quite a personal question. There are different types of feminine based on your own style. If you are a jeans and jacket kind of girl, try wearing a more fitted t-shirt in a feminine color (pastel) or with a cute, "girly" saying (like girls rule). Wear pointy-toed boots (or if you're real brave high heels) instead of tennis shoes. Try wearing more jewelry (necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings...even ankle bracelets), putting on makeup (especially eye make-up and lipstick), taking the time to fix your hair (check in a magazine for ideas), and wear perfume (not scented lotion.)

If you are really wanting to go ultra feminine, dresses and skirts are the ticket. Make sure to wear them with heels.

If you are worried to try to do something on your own, go to the mall (or some shopping place) and observe woman and what they are wearing. Find some women who dress they way you want to look and imitate that style buy going to a clothing store and purchasing similar items.

I hope you find something that is comfortable for you and I hope that your boyfriend appreciates it!

all gals dont wear skirts and stuff. Yyou can look feminine without changing your attire at all. Maybe you can grow your hair and try nicer hairstyles or wear sandals instead of shoes. Change the TYPE of your jean. Wear femine shirts than jackets, then try capris and shorts. After that nice printed skirts(flowered skirt would NOT be my advice) and nice tops with colors that suit.

you can try to follow the trend. try something decent. wearing a spag with a cropped jacket and skinny jeans. wear a pump shoe. wear some makeup.maybe mascara and gloss would be enough. style ur hair, pin the sides up loosely.and you're ready =)
you may not be so feminine this time. but you have to get used to it first. you bf need to get use to it too. you will improve from time to time. good luck =D

I think it is interesting that men and women both can wear jeans, but only women get to wear dresses and skirts. It is something that only we get to do. So try to wear dresses and skirts once in while. When you wear a dress you will most likely feel more feminine and ladylike. You will not slouch and sprawl but try to live up to what your appearance says about you.

Goodluck!

Well it looks like from ur avatar u wear glasses. get some contacts, get a medium length skirt if u don't wanna show much skin. maybe try a shirt that goes down in the front, but not toooo down u know. then get some nice make-up that goes with your offit, and brings out your face. wear your hair down, with maybe a small wave, or straighten it completely! get a nice cute zip up in the front jacket that goes with your shirt and skirt. wear some high heels, and that should do the trick. or just keep the jeans, and go with all my other advice(jeans go with all!) hope that helped!

If your b.f. doesn't like the way you dress, if you don't mind my saying so, he is more shallow than he should be. there's nothing more romantic than a woman who dresses for herself, who has an independent mindset, and isn't influenced by gender stereotypes. women don't need ornamentation to look beautiful and sexy. if your b.f. is a fetishist, then that's another story--you can always dress "more feminine" behind closed doors to please him. but seriously, don't go changing your appearance in public to appease a man. it seems a little too gratuitous to me.

i happen to be quite taken with a woman who dresses in jeans and jackets. she is gorgeous and just right the way she chooses to be.
