I see Liberals as the biggest threat to my rights. Why? They try to tell me what I should drive, never bothering to find out if I might - work with me here - actually NEED a big truck. We own a small farm - farms need trucks. We have a tractor, too. Is that bad?

They tell us not to hunt. I don't personally hunt, but I reap the benefits from having many friends and family members who do. Our freezer always has moose in it. Sometimes sheep and caribou, too. So what if the hunter takes a trophy? The meat gets eaten. Only a moron wastes good meat. Besides, game is much, much healthier. Our beef supply is full of hormones and antibiotics. Have at it - but I'll keep my moose, thanks.

They tell us where to smoke. I'm an ex-smoker and I really hate the smell of cigarettes. But - they ARE legal and people who smoke DO have rights, too. Hell, they won't even leave it up to a business owner to decide if he/she wants to allow smoking - what about THEIR rights?

They tell us not to trap, oror wear fur. Well, too bad. Most people I know who trap, trap for the money. It's been a way of life here LONG before you or I came along. It's a cultural tradition here, going straight back to the Natives. Fur is not only a renewable resource, it's non-toxic and does not pollute the environment. How much pollution is put into our environment by all these fancy, high-tech materials?

They say we shouldn't log. Forest management is a necessity - just look at how awful the fires in California have been. Mother Nature has always used fire as a way to keep the forest healthy - we can either do it ourselves, and not have such horrible fires, or she'll take care of it. Instead of wasting all that wood AND polluting the environment with all that smoke, why shouldn't someone make a living off of it?

Liberal teachers say they don't have time to raise our kids - and they're right, they don't. So why are so many children being taught liberal propaganda? A little boy on my husband's side of the family was riding along with his grandmother a couple of years ago. They passed a man cutting down a dead, rotten tree, and the poor kid burst into tears. Gran asked him what was wrong, and he replied, "That man is cutting down that tree! We're all going to die!" Where did he learn that? SCHOOL.

My nephew lives in a very small town and is growing up in a very typical small-town Alaska manner. He hunts, fishes, and traps. When he was six, his parents had to go down to the school - some liberal moron was lecturing this kid because he likes to hunt and trap. Gee, you're right - it would be *so* much better if he just sat in front of a television every night, lost for hours in a video game.

My best friend pulls her sons out of school each fall to go moose hunting with their father. She had to go to THEIR elementary school more than once to tell a liberal teacher to mind their own damned business - the boys were given a bad time because they hunt. That's total BS.

Liberals only support freedom of speech if it is speech they agree with. Just look at how poorly INVITED Conservative speakers are treated on colleges all across the country. Hell, I'm a right-leaning Libertarian who works for a university - diversity my ***. I know of 5 other right-leaning employees - and I've worked in 6 different departments. And trust me - politics always comes up.

We didn't decorate for "the holidays" last year, or hold our annual "holiday" party. (We're not allowed to call it Christmas. Damn - what's that about freedom of speech? Or religion? Hmmm.) Why didn't we? A far-left nut job professor had a screaming fit at her admin the year before. Why? Because I actually had the nerve to put an ornamant on the "holiday" tree that said (this would be a good time to get the children out of the room) "Merry Christmas". Yep, that's right - the "C" word. Right out there for all to see. This hag THREW the ornament at her admin, screaming (we could hear it down the hall) "THIS HAS NO PLACE ON A UNIVERSITY CAMPUS!" Really? So, I guess that diversity thing only applies to non-Christians?

Look what the ACLU did for NY schools. It's perfectly okay to display the Jewish Menorah, or the Muslim Star and Crescent - RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS - in public schools, but don't you dare have a Nativity scene.

WHO'S trampling on our rights?!?

Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal....

Let me clear a few things up. First, I am most certainly NOT a neocon. I have never been a liberal. I am a Libertarian who votes Republican because I sincerely think the left is going to destroy my country.

I'll have to reread this, but I'm pretty sure the only "insult" I issued was to call liberals hypocrites. Based on the FACTS above, how on earth can you deny that fact?

And anyone stupid enough to compare Bush to Hitler..well, nothing else really needs to be said on that, now does it?

WELL DONE!!! You are EXACTLY right. I am a former smoker myself and know of a child who became extremely upset because they saw an adult smoking outside!!!. They had been taught in school that smoking was a very bad drug, and that anyone who smoked was a drug addict. Yes, smoking is a drug, but not in the same category as an ILLEGAL drug. Last time I checked smoking was still legal. BUT we are to have COMPASSION for those who are using illegal drugs, because they have a "problem", an addiction, but the smokers are just the "bad guys". Now we have the food police telling us what to eat. We have to watch everything that we put in our mouths and every word that comes out.
As for Merry Christmas? I said it to EVERYONE who entered my place of employment. EVERYONE. I had some who asked if it was OKAY to say Merry Christmas. I couldn't believe it, and I can't believe what is going on. I am hoping and praying there will be a backlash soon in this country. I am seriously worried for the future generations. Seems that those who commit crimes, or harm us in any way always have someone watching out for THEIR "rights". Why is that?

Imagine my quandary.
I smoke because it is a natural depressant. If I were to stop smoking, my olfactory nerve is very sensitive to certain odors. Women wouldn't want me around them. My personality changes into something like, well imagine Robin Williams on antidepressants-legal or not. I don't like to be that annoying. Yet I like Robin Williams because he is funny.
Told to go outside to smoke even in inclimate weather as well. And listen to folks crying about the increased health-care costs a smoker represents to the system. Hmmm?
I drink on occasion. I am told to stay inside. I like to socialize from time to time. Yet I am damned by my vices. No I am not the antisocial one. I am paying higher taxes for these specific activities and my vice. If I were to speak about how antisocial these taxes were, I would be told to shut up and take a pill. Hmmm, another increase in healthcare?
What is the average age for males? Roughly 76 years. What if I don't want to sit around that long listening to crap? Alot of it is just that and I have fish to fry.

Being a liberal I don't have a problem with anything you mentioned. I don't have a problem with you hunting, or hanging up your religious symbols. Nor your right to have freedom of speech.
What I do have a problem with is deficit spending, refusal to take tax hikes when the country needs them, conservatives trying to outlaw abortion, misusing our military, trying to outlaw euthanasia, and trying to pass laws that have a Christian agenda.
There's alot more than this, that makes me liberal. Your just as difficult to live with.

Your not to bright but don't feel bad just cause your lacking a few brain cells. There's a lot of neo/cons just like you which you can hang out and talk about the kinds of things that lesser intellects find interesting. Also, if you think that insulting us liberals will make you feel better, then go ahead and emote. Every one knows it has no meaning considering the source, a neo/con

You are correct and many Americans are just about to our boiling point with the politically correct liberals using the courts to take our freedoms.

I respectfully disagree.

But, as soon as I see a liberal is responsible for arresting an American citizen in America and holding him/her in Guantanamo for 3 or 4 years without due process and without availing him/her of Habeus Corpus, I'll consider myself a hypocrite for not supporting your God given right to burn leaves in your mouth.
