America is powerful enough and advanced enough to prevent this from happening to a great extent. Most people don't realize how extensively the US influences, safeguards and stabalizes the world.
Many people are so busy blaming the US (and the Bush administration) for wrongdoing and bludering and murder and mayhem that they forget that Muslim terrorism has brought violence to dozens of countries throughout the world over the last 40 years. Most people are also ignorant (at no fault of their own) that Muslim militant organizations have been actively recruiting violent fanatics for the last few decades to create this horrible situation.
