I have noticed that it appears on tv and in public, that often I see a person who "appears" gay to wear a wedding type band on their "right" hand instead of their left. Is this the hand the represents a "gay marriage"? Just inquiring.

I think it depends on their culture rather than their orientation. I lived in Germany for eight years and they always wear their wedding bands on their right hand. They also have to get both a civil and religious ceremony by law. I used to work with someone originally from Sri Lanka who would wear her engagement ring on her left hand and her wedding band on her right. Her husband wears his wedding band on his left. Apparently what the custom is that each spouse wears their wedding band on the opposite hand from each other. So if she wears her wedding band on her right hand and him on his left, when they hold hands, their rings "click". It's rather romantic actually.

Gay Marriage Wedding Rings

Completely depends on the individuals involved. Most people I've heard of just go with the left ring finger like straights, but some people want to make it a point that they are NOT married because they cannot be legally married, so they'll wear the ring somewhere else.

Yes, it often does...but right hands are also used in Europe for straight wedding bands...so it becomes a little confusing...I have seen male couples who were not legally married wearing rings on their right hands as well.

The short smart-aleck answer is 'wherever they want to.' It probably varies with the individual. I've known gays who wear a silver 'friendship ring' on the right hand when they have a steady SO, but I have no idea if that changes when/if they get married (in whatever sense).

My friend wears her ring on the normal wedding finger and so does her wife/life partner.
