Who's the gloombag who's thumbing everything down?

ING is fine. There's no advertising here. Fact is, you probably won't be able to find a word against this electronic bank anywhere.

Good clean Dutch efficiency. There's comfort to be derived from the fact that the parent bank, ING of Rotterdam, Holland, is among the biggest in the world.

If there were a list of 100 Best Common Everyday Items, an ING account would be on that list.

In fact, ING is a huge brand in Europe, a little bit like TD in Canada.

In North America (and elsewhere in the world) they offer one of their service which is precisely ING Direct. It is an online saving account that has most of the time superior rates to other traditionnal bank (their business model is very interesting).

Ps: this is not advertising or whatsoever, I work in Belgium and have no link with ING. Just check http://www.bankaholic.com/ to see that ING really has superior rates

I've been with ING Direct for about a year. They recently offered a checking account to me, so I suppose they have everything a regular bank does now. They offer good rates by not having expensive branch buildings with bank tellers. And yes, I'm getting the 4.5% interest. That said, I think there are banks offering 5% now.

ing works for me as well. Its a fair question no problems with it been using it for several years now. It is a savings account and I woudl recommend either weekly or monthly plans build up the wealth in there.
