There are many people in India following family planning already irrespective of caste or religion. This requires to be increased many times for reduction at a faster rate. The general good can then only reach all sections of the population. If one section of the public is not adhering, then there will be disinterest to other sections and thus the toal programme will suffer. A willingeness to cooperate should help faster reduction in population.

The main reasons for lack of awareness on the ill-effects of excess population are poverty and illiteracy.
70% of India lives in villages and 60% of India is below poverty line, lacking basic needs.
Only education and employment can remove the poverty.
Once people get education and employment, they appreciate the the problems of over population and the population will slow down in a matter of 10 years.
