I think you'd have better luck finding that question online. Any technical questions and you have a hundred dorks on here speaking their minds and giving alot of false and unnecessary info.

I'd check out www.about.com or here's a good site as well....

Hope it helps and when you find some info on DVD burners make sure you have a pen and pad handy to jot down the differences. Good luck!

Wide open question there boss!

First: If you're comfortable opening your PC case and if you've got the room, get an internal, no question. Get a geek friend to help if need be. Externals take up extra space, and extra power plug, they're slower, etc.

Try www.newegg.com for a good deal. They ship quickly and accurately, never had a hassle with 'em. Don't go for the most expensive. Just get a cheap (preferably a name brand you know) 16X DVD burner. They're all about the same. Sure some are better than others, but who cares if it takes 5 minutes or 6 minutes to burn one? Close enough for guberment work!

Don't sweat the details on something like this. You're not buying a new motherboard to base a whole new PC on. It's just a add-on burner. Get a geek friend to help install an internal burner.

Check out the first guy's answer. Probably the best! :)

GOOD LORD....Frankly, it is not that hard.
All " internal " is telling you, is that it is manufactured to go in the tower case...screwed down. It is NOT " external " or seperate from the case which is usually connected by a USB connection to the tower. (Plain & Simple)
YOU CAN... buy a internal DVD device or hard drive, then buy a EXTERNAL USB CASE for approx $30 (shop around) - and TURN ANY INTERNAL into an EXTERNAL USING THAT CASE.
When using external devices though, you have to make sure they are sitting on something flat where they won't get knocked around or jogged causing skips, etc while you are using it. That is an easy way to lose everything you had saved or were trying to save.

Nope regrettably :(... i have tried many circumstances too ha ha. you could however burn different formats of video. attempt a software like nero and it delivers you with the alternative to burn numerous kinds of video clips. those video clips will play in maximum dvd gamers they basically wont be in a dvd format. extraordinarily cool once you take advantage of homestead windows movie maker and make your own video clips :)
