It's a fairly old lap top, (Compaq Armada E500). Has been working fine till now, though. I thought it might be the (left) button, but the sensor pad doesn't work for "double tapping" either. I changed my settings to "left" b/c the left button still responds... Oh, I recently started using a wireless mouse with it if that has anything to do with it....??? PLEASE HELP! The wireless mouse is fine for home, but it wont fit on those little fold out desks at college!!

Try un-installing the mouse from the SYSTEM HARDWARE area. Then reboot or let the system re-discover the mouse. However, if you are having areas of the glide area that are not responding, then the ribbon that connects that component to the motherboard is coming loose. You will have to open the unit up and re-seat the ribbon for that glide pad to the motherboard. Compaq has the drivers for that specific device and can be downloaded for free.

Good luck.

sounds like your computer would have overheated. be sure that not something is blocking off the vents on the computer, then supply it a at the same time as to sit back down earlier attempting to restart it. If it ends as a lot as be damaged, take it decrease back to the position of purchase for assure service/alternative.
