It is so depressing when my $250,000 R/V will not tow my Hummer SUV and my 40 ft boat and jetskis at the same time.

I was thinking about visiting that war in IRAQ..but...I must have the basics.. Oh yes ....must not forget Gucci Flakjackets..the rage in Bagdad

Well hunny, I'm sure no logical American really expects a $250,000 RV to tow all that! Not something that cheap! See, the wife would have to drive the hummer and tow the jet skis. And that's how it's done successfully. If you know Americans are materialistic and greedy then you should also know we're always successful! Oh gee, is that where the arrogant trait comes in?

I am US borne, I lived in Miami-Florida for seven years, before that, I lived in south America and recently moved out of Florida for good to the UK, and now I look back to these past 7 years and even though I did my professional career there, I felt it was the 7 worst years of my live (social wise), because of this capitalistic systems I did not have many friends, everybody was busy, did not have a real girlfriend cause I did not have money to show and people saw me like I was a rat because I was poor “the more you have, the more you are” . And in the US, you can not pursued a university degree unless you come from a very wealthy family or live in debt for the rest of your life and if you become sick, you either have to have an insurance (very expensive if not paid by employer) or lived in debt for the rest of your live.

I think in the US, there is a culture to work but not culture to socialise with others, for example Drs see you as a number $ more than as a patient, i don’t want to generalise but i think the US system changes people into machines and blocks their mind form what is outside, most of the people I meet there, think that the US is the best country in every single way, without even visiting other countries, well I don’t blame then , with the little time off we had in Florida as listed on linked below, there is not time to visit any other countries,

Well, something else I realize when I was travelling Europe and south America, I noticed that most of Americans did not make any effort to a least speak the most common or used word in other languages and expect everybody to speak english as once a girl from Chicago told me “we are leaving the a globalisation world so everybody need to speak English”

In the other hand I think that economically wise US is great , my parents are doing financially very well so is my brother and most of the people I know, but unfortunately all the money they make and have, cant not even be enjoyed. I truly respect you opinion but I think that WE as “Americans” should see the world equally, change our minds, not because we are richest and have the economical power we have the right to abuse others and impose our system, ethics, morals as every country has their own and we should respect that.

No, of course not! Believe or not, there are actually poor people here. Lots and lots of them. Then there are the working poor, who are a little better off than the poor, but not by that much. I keep hearing that the middle class is disappearing, but I still see a lot of people who can afford expensive new cars and big houses, and I am not one of them. The greediest, most materialistic and most hopelessly arrogant, are also the ones who get the most attention from the media. Please don't blame us all for the behavior, and attitudes of a few!!!

No. We all aren't. I have to ask you a question (I assume you aren't from the USA).

Are there Christian Evangelicals in other countries that profess that God wants you to be rich and that if you follow Jesus you will become so?

I am American but I was raised with a Jesus wants you to leave your belongings on the beach and follow him sort of Christianity. I don't understand the Golden Calf Christians but I'm supposing it is some kind of melding of Christian and Republican Ideals.

Any thoughts?

Also, I'll respond to a question that might come up because of some of the other answers. Many Americans realize that you can be materialistic and poor and even that one can lead to the other. So, we are not all illiterate either.

those generalizations are so deceptive to the quantity that they are thoroughly valueless. maximum of my pals are chinese language and numerous them are from Shanghai. the girls many times are firstclass in all respects. It has lengthy been a generalization between chinese language that Shanghai people won't be able to be depended on, notwithstanding that's a delusion. To extra erode the common sense (truly lack of common sense) is that Shanghai's inhabitants is transforming into exponentially, this style of number of Shanghai anybody is particularly new to the city.

No, all Americans are not greedy, materialistic and hopelessly arrogant.

Making such a sweeping generalization doesn't paint a very flattering picture of you either.

Wow - the ratty old piece of crap foreign car you drive and your fast-food job are making you really bitter.

Hey, if working for minimum wage pisses you off so much, get an education. There is a ton of financial aid available, and if you're really interested in bettering yourself, you can probably even find enough grant money - you'd never have to pay it back.

Not all of us...actually, I'm quite poor. But then I don't pretend that I have anything in common w/the powers that be. I get a kick out of those who think that they are somehow in the same boat with the Bushs (and the bin Ladens--who, I'm sure you know, are close RICH friends!)

PS Don't forget some Armani headgear--very important in those hot climates....
