If Neji and Sasuke have fought against each other in the main matches of the final exam, who would have won?

I'm talking about the main matches of the final exam of the chuunin selections...

assuming that orochimaru's "destruction of konoha" plan never happened and there was no enemy around...


and given the two genin's status at that time, who would have won?

Aiya..this is rather a difficult question. One of the points being that the Hyuuga and Uchiha clans have always been rivals and that they rival each other in strength and ability and basically their abilities compliment the others that, it would be tought so say since its a long rivaly between the bloodlimit abilities of the clans and the 2 young men.

Also hard to say sence we've never actually seen these 2 skills go at each other to have a good idea how they would react.

But just going off of thought, I think I would say Neji would win. Both are determined fighters but i think Neji has trained and perfected his skills more and his are more taijutsu based attacks which of course are the compliment fighting style for sharingan fighting style.

Both have a visual style that would let them see more then the average ninja, but Neji can see in a full circle so he could see all attacks and for Chidori, Sasuke needs a more sationary fighter and with the taijutsu strength that Neji has I think it would be rather hard to surprise him and attack him wtih Chidori. Also, Neji has very destructive jutsus and if cuts off the chakra of sasuke it would be over.

I'd say at that point, although Sasuke was strong and has a strong attack himself, i just see Neji winning.

Uhmmm...At the time I would say Neji. But if it happened during the 2nd Part of Naruto, I would definitely have to say Sasuke. Becuase Sasuke had been training with Orochimaru all the time and Orochimaru is stronger than Guy...

Well, both of from a noble clan and also kenkei genkai fighters but I'd say Sasuke would beat Neji because Sasuke can copy his skill and he have learned and copied down Rock Lee's taijutsu in just 1-3 days plus Sasuke had enhanced his speed in just few days while Lee took few years to catch up with that kind of incredible speed. Sasuke can see through Neji's fighting plot with sharingan eyes and also Sasuke is a genius so he would think of a way to defeat Neji. I think Sasuke may be able to guess the weak point of Neji and thats his blind spot behind his back so Sasuke just need to aim at his blind spot and hit him with his chidori with his incredible speed.

well, Neji is not weak too, he can see through his opponent's vein and flow of chakra. Neji can also use his kenkei genkai to fight with Sasuke with his 360 degree ultra block.

sasuke will still win over Neji because of his dedicated and persistent ambition. Sasuke wants to kill his brother itachi as soon as possible even he will needs to risk his own life so Sasuke would fight neji with his full strength just to achieve greater power.

For me, base on their capabilities at that moment, I think it would be Sasuke that will win the match. But sure it's a great fight between the two! Sasuke can use Chidori already and has Sharingan that he can use to copy different techniques, much to his advantage. I know that Neji is powerful and has Byakugan....

Neji. I think he's ahead among the Rookie 9 and his teammates. But if we're talking about present manga timeline, I think Sasuke would beat Neji easily.
