So that these lazy people will get off their *** and work? Maybe someone should investigate the claim.

I never state ALL. I never stated some either, my fault. I live in a town where most of the people are having six kids and are on welfare. They are more then capable to work.
Not all are lazy, but quite a few are. I can show you two examples on yahoo answers just today.

It already has been you can't just get welfare and sit around and do nothing. It helps people that are like single parents and do not make enough to support there family and minimum wage does not pay sh*t. No one can live on that, not even a single person with not kids can live on minimum wage. Welfare has a program set up so that you go to classes to get prepared to find a job and you put in alot of application weekly. Its the new welfare to work program. Get educated
And yeah they should change welfare as soon as they raise minimum wage.

The cash checks stop after 2 kids (here in AR u get $212 a month for 2 kids...not even enough for one kid).. they still get food stamps and medicaid but u can't punish the kids for their parents.. If a parent is too , as u say , lazy to work, is it fair to let the kids starve and not get health care.. That's ridiculous. What about the elderly or disabled.. we are NOT able to work but I would love to.. There are a few that abuse the system but 99% don't...there are valid reasons to be on welfare...like when you make $600 a month wages after taxes and daycare is $400 a month.. a person can't pay rent, uilities, food, clothes, med. care, etc. on $200 a month.. If u have never been in the dire situation to NEED it u have no right to judge anyone.. If u want welfare reform u need to get the illegals off the assistance.. they use more money than most Americans do. Then u need to allow them to go to school/college at a BIG discount or even free, get their education and then that would not be a problem..

Why are you categorizing all people on welfare as lazy? I was a divorced mom with 2 small children. I had to walk my kids to daycare and then walk to work. I just need to help to make ends meet at the time. Just because you are on welfare doesn't mean you are lazy.
There may come a time in your life when you need help. Maybe they will reform the program and you will be investigated and called lazy because you are have a rough time and need help..

Greg - these people?
lazy ***?
Who else will you be hating on next?
The elderly on medicade?
Questions like these make me wonder if it is a guilty conscience of those who ask them, are you on welfare?
I don't receive welfare, but, if that is what will keep their children safe and sound, I will not comment on their parents lack of motivation, if any.
Being that welfare reform had reduced and limits the time they may be on it, if you find someone out there on welfare more then time permits...did you ever think that there is more to it, then just laziness.
I don't know, that's just my prospective, and my point being to you, is a simple re-phrasing of your question, to not allow us to believe that you would want to see children affected by this type of stereotyping!

Yes. They should be allowed to be on it long enough to get a grant, and get the education they need to support themself. After that, they are off of it. Oklahoma and Texas passed a law that supports this. It has given hope to individuals that had none enabling them to make a decent living to support themselves and their family.

NOT ALL OF THEM ARE LAZY. SOME PEOPLE ARE NOT AS FORTUNATE AS YOU. AND YOU SHOULD NOT CONDEMN THEM FOR HAVING A RUN OF BAD LUCK.
