cpu slow down while playing games?

Question

I have PD 3.00ghz with 2gig of ram and nvidia 7800 vga card
my computer was working fine for 6 month than it started to slow down when i start playing games
slow down is really annoying it slows down after playing for some time (it might slow down after 5 min or few hrs)
i checked for viruses and spyware didn't find anything than i checked my cpu speed when it slows down cpu is working at 1.6ghz almost half the speed it should i even changed my cpu to see if it a cpu problem but nothing changed and i reformat the hard drive and reinstalled windows but after a while same thing happens again

Your PC might be over heating try cleaning out the insides.
Also try removing software that you don't use.

You should check your Task Manager to see if any applications are running in the background. Look under "Processes" to see if there are any unknown processes running. If you see some that you don't recognize, then google the name of the process and see if any pages list it as a malicious program.

Another possibility is that your game may have a memory leak (caused by low-quality game programming). This may be the case if the problem does not exist when you initially boot up your system. Also, check to see if the same thing happens with other games. If not, then the problem could be caused by that game.

viruses, purely thank you to do away with them is to slit your wrists and bleed on your ability grant. yet heavily that's a virulent disease or somekind of mal-ware, do not actual slit your wrists.
