Iraq is close to allowing British and US oil companies to come in and steal the Iraqi peoples' biggest natural resource. Great…there’s a 30 year commitment for US troops to protect the oil companies. Permanente bases anyone?
Read this!!! I beg of you. My jaw dropped when I read this. What do you think? You still think Iraq's WMD was the reason? lol

#1 I suspected it was for oil for a while. I waited until I found evidence like this to truly believe it.

Actually, the legislation has not yet been passed by the Iraqi government. Let's hope the three Iraqi Oil Unions' lobbyists are as good as the ones we have in the U.S., and they persuade their government to keep the oil under national control. Of course the profits from their oil will then most likely be used to help the ruling political party's sect over that of the Kurds or the Sunnis. The legislation does allow for the equal distribution of oil revenues throughout the country for all three sects. If someone could keep this part of it intact, and drop the foreign company measures, the legislation would not be that bad. It would ease the fears held by many Sunnis that they will be left out of the nation's oil profits, which in turn could lead to a more peaceful balance between the various members of their government.

I haven't read your article. I don't intend to. I'm actually surprised that there are people in this world who are surprised *SHOCK* *HORROR* that the Bush admin is not as honest as it has been. Strike that - I am not surprised that there are people in this world who are suddenly horrified by reading a news article about this.

(1) YOU WILL NEVER KNOW THE TRUTH. The truth is dead. As if the Bush administration will break down and confess "Yes, yes, I confess - we did it for the oil!" what do you expect. They are gonna say patriotric things like "this is for freedom, justice and democracy." They will say things like "this is to kill of al qeade". That doesn't necessarily mean that it is true. People only say what is in their interests. Don't believe what ANYONE says (except your close friends family etc). People will say one thing and another. You will never know anything for sure. People will say they did it to 'save the iraqi people' etc. etc. Sorry, but NOONE can answer your question.

You just have to deduce the truth by asking yourself: does this really make sense?

(2) Most military analysts (those outside the US) suggest that oil had a big role to play. Google this and find out for yourself.

Does it make sense???
(3) Wars cost money. Pure and simple. The easiest way to pay for oil is to steal it from the country you are invading (too bad there is no oil in afghanistan). Standard military tactics. Why do you think the Iraqis keep blowing up their own oil pipeline?????? They do it just to prevent the Americans getting their hands on it. They do it to make the American war effort just that little bit harder, and this is working considerably. Now ask yourself, does it make sense for the Americans to take Iraqi oil? Does it make sense to go to war and NOT take their oil.

Ofcourse, we're stealing oil because the oil-money goes towards building nuclear arms and weapons to destroy america. Find out what Islam actually teaches 9:29, 5:33, 5:38, 2:191, 4:34, 5:51, 4:89, 9:123, 33:50, etc.....Theres alot more to the picture and once you see it, its very frightening.

Listen they don't care about the oil there they are crazed fanatics, looking for the end of the world to gratify themselves in victory against the infidel, In other words they are nuts. We built those oil fields us and some other Euro investors along with Britain. Saddam blew them up in the Desert Storm War too. If they have bought the interests of which they have, then it belongs to the purchaser right? What are you talking about? Someone has to civilize this madness and if business is the nitch they need. Like having legit jobs that pay them to build toilets and decent housing, and live a worthy life then so be it. Stop feeling sorry for a people who commit genecide on themselves and others they are nuts, and they need lots of thorazine and haldol trust me.

And the jump in gas prices (in the US) was most certainly not due to the cost per barrel, if you look at the profits of the companies you will see that they increased by about 30%. Like I have said in other answers, in every decision Bush makes, someone is making lots of money.

If it was really for oil, Bush would have simply opened ANWR - like the VAST majority of Alaskans want.

And I'm not sure how much I trust this article - it has a factual error in the very first paragraph.

Have a nice day. Or night? Not sure of the time difference.

The REAL reason we are fighting in Iraq is against the terrorists that seek to oppress the country so it is not free as we are here. We are NOT there for oil, as the mainstream liberal media tells everybody and YES, Hussein had WMDs and we found them over there soon after the war started. Of course, the liberal media hides that fact, too, but what do you expect? The liberals hide behind their curtain of BS and lies anyway. Also, who said our troops were going to be over there for the next 30 years? Lemme guess - that idiot Nancy Pelosi, right? Or did you hear it from Charles Rengal? Whoever said it is making up fantasy stories and feeding your head with them. A piece of free advice: don't be so gullible.

Is the Pope a catholic? Oil rules!
If only B43 had told it the way it really was - nab terrorists - I'd forgive several of his un-presidential shortcomings.Like his stumbling sophomoric syntax and his stubborn disclaimer of global warming warning. (I'm The Decider, Ah moan decide. Etc.).
