I observe there are 3 basic formats for resume but the difference between them is the first page. The format I like is the one with the Career/Job Objective.

Basic contents of a resume
- Attached 2" x 2" ID pix
- Your name
- Position Applied for
- Career/Job Objective (separated from next by a bold line)
- Personal Information - the personal stuff such as b-day, b-place, parents, etc.
- Work Background/Experience (be sure to highlight the accomplishments)
- Training
- Education
- Character References (I like the one that leave details blank and write "Available upon request" because you may not be considered in the first place and companies will surely ask for details if they are impressed.)

You have to know what particular aspect of the resume will the company be interested so that you can 'fully load' that aspect.

I could tell you, although it would be trying to teach someone how to swim by giving a lecture, instead of training them how to swim in a pool.

If you've never done a resume, get a professional to do it for you; it does not cost much. Besides, if you have no experience at it, you may not want to turn in a sloppy, slacker resume because this would disqualify you as an applicant even before you are considered for an interview.

You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

You usually start with your education. List school, college or university attended and exam results or degrees achieved. Then what companies you have previously worked for, what position you held there and for how long. Attach copies of references from these companies if you have them. Then a bit about yourself, marital status, children if any and then your ambitions and goals and in particular list your strong points like being able to work without supervision and being a friendly and outgoing person who likes a challenge. Keep it short. Usually just one A4 page. Good luck.

Prepare a list of references seperately to present if requested. Do not put "References available on request" as that is outdated and understood that you will provide if needed.
