I think it is all relative. Living in Portland, I would call them wimps when I see the possibility of freezing temperatures is a big news story down there. But people in colder climates than me would probably consider us wimps when we make a big deal out of not getting above freezing all day in Portland (as has been the case recently due to the same cold snap affecting SoCal). It does not often get down to 32 degrees F or below in L.A., so it is understandable that they would make a big deal out of it.

If you are not used to a temperature range, it will feel more uncomfortable to you than someone from Siberia, of course. This does not make you a "wimp", because every human body must maintain the same approximate body temperature for proper function. The Siberian is as cold as you in a given temperature, only he/she is more acclimated to the cold than you, and therefore is more comfortable. Someone used to 70 degree winters will not fare as well in the cold as someone used to -4. Simple, actually.

despite climate you have in Cali i'm particular that that's plenty greater advantageous than what we've on the east coast. I stay in huge apple and we are waiting for a snow typhoon this night into day after today morning. as quickly as Fall techniques it takes a at a similar time as to get familiar with the chilly climate returned yet after a at a similar time as you get used to it. i merely won't be able to attend until finally summer season even although that's rather well worth the wait, the summers indexed under are the appropriate. The winters here a kinda long although & I hate wintry climate so as quickly as I end intense college i'm leaving for the two Florida or Cali.

People who live in warmer climate are less tolerant of colder weather due to the fact they are acclimated to California weather, ie warm and dry. If someone who lived in Nevada where it is cold with ice and snow and they traveled to southern ca, for example would be extremely warm because the are acclimated to cold weather, all of which would affect ones health.

Yes! As is every person that is used to moderate weather...
Esp. when they drive up into ski country. They're bunch of bozos on snowy roads.
4 wheel drive is not 4 wheel stop
Funniest sight I ever saw was a Hummer from Florida, with chains, stuck in the ditch on I-25 Monument Pass.

Oh yeah!
I was raised in SoCal and never owned a long sleeved shirt until I moved to northern Cali when I was 15.
I was shocked! I never knew cold before! I don't know how people manage in the snow.
Really, you all should move!

Boils down to perspective. They don't get much cold weather, so they aren't use to it. Most of us in the colder areas of the country have the same problem for the 1st couple of cold snaps. Then, we get use to it.
