Be fair, if you can. The Democrats are not any better. Give things a couple of years, unless we are fortunate enough to have a Dem become incapacitated and his or her seat go to a Republican, and see what the Dems and their cohorts begin to do the same things they are howling about what Republicans are doing, or are in some way connected with. Our government, like it or not, is more big business oriented than it ever has been. Both sides are just as bad as the other. It's like having 2 young childern who are ALWAYS, seemingly, getting into trouble. What one doesn't think of and do, the other one will.
The minimum wage IS a bad idea. Like Social Security, it was NEVER meant to provide a living wage. It was meant to help, but not fully support. Those in favor of it are only out to garner votes. When things become obvious that no gain was made for those who depend on the minumum wage as a means to make a living, then there will be some problem that arose that they could not foresee. It's all the same nonsense that has been going on before you were born. Politicians say they will help out knowing full well that it will be of no help. The people who rely on the minimum wage as a living wage with no desire to better themselves do deserve just what they get. I realize that sounds harsh, but they are not willing to do for themselves. Please do not say that they can't, because they can. There is a multitude of things they can do for themselves without having to resort to illegal methods. I know, I have been there as well.

I don't know - how come minimum wage workers don't attend $2000 a plate DEMOCRAT FUND raisers?
Of course, they are in the back, washing dishes for the...Hypocrite Democrats they are.

For the exact same reason they don't attend $2000 a plate DEMOCRAT FUND raisers. And I would venture a guess that they do not attend any expensive fund raisers for not for profits either, even if it were an organization that they supported in principle.

For the same reason they r unable to pay their heating bills. And I `d love to hear how a minimum wage earner can better themselves with only a HS. education, a couple of young kids at home, and a husband that deserted the family. So many think that low wage earners can just jump into a better paying job with a snap of the fingers. To them, I say, wake up and smell the roses, get real. Unless ur out there struggling to make a living, don`t be to quick to judge.

This is one of the best questions I have seen on here. Why don't those darn impoverished people just get better jobs? Maybe attending a 2000 dollar a plate lunch in is just the incentive they need.
