To magnetically prepare a disk to receive data. A diskette or hard disk must be formatted before it can be used. Formatting a diskette erases all data previously stored on it.

If you don't know what it means you probably shouldnt do it unless you want to lose everything that you have. But yeah, it erases everything on your hard drive, usually for a fresh OS install.

it means u have erased everything including the basic operating system and re-installed a clean version of the operating system
if u reformat u loose everything u had on ur comp so back ur stuff up(make another copy somewhere)
normally the way to reformat is to use the windows operating system disk that should have come with ur comp
just pop it in and follow the on-screen instructions

Format mean you are going to earse every thing from you hardrive so if you are not soure don,t do so .its becase of some HDD problams it gives the messege but it can be handel

clear every single file in our hard drive... rearrange all space after remove...
