My memory card for the PS2 is not working, it says corrupt data, what should i do?

I was playing Guitar Hero and i paused the game and went to eat, when i came back the playstation2 was on standby, it hasnt worked since then, (saying data is found, but corrupeted) what do i do?

I have this problem before and i think i fixed it, but i dont remember how

All your data is lost erase the memory and start over
