most anti virus programs are quite good. McAfee and Norton are probably two of the best. But if your computer came with Norton don't try it with MaAfee as the two will try to override each other and you will find that nothing seems to work properly. As for installing program on a second computer, as long as its yours and you still have the original program every is fine. Just remember same purpose programs will conflict with one another and won't work!. As one ot your answer givers gave, AVG in not a complete antivirus program and the 40 to 60 bucks you spend, buying a proper program is worth more than you know. Your computer is an investment take care of it

I think you can use the same CD for two computers. If you need, I can give a few links that offer free virus and spyware removers...!You may be having a virus or spyware installed on your PC. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at

People seem to have a wide range of opinions on this. In my own experience, best to go with one of the established names unless you possess above average computer knowledge. I have used McAfee and Norton and they both seem about the same overall, just depends on what interface you prefer. I use Norton now, mostly because they offer coverage for 3 computers on one disk. It took a few weeks of occasional noodling with it to get it configured comfortably. but it works good and lasts a long time.

Yes, if you have to buy another anti-virus CD. You can use the one you have got now, but it will be treated as invalid and you won't receive the updates. I will recommend you buy Kaspersky or BitDefender.

Every computer needs it's own separate antivirus. You can use the disk you already have for the other computer but yes you need to install it on the second computer. Hubby prefers Symantec.
