Water is a liquid at room temp. cause of it's chemical geometry. That's about all I can say without getting "smart". A water molecule is polar, so one side of it is positively charged, the other negatively charged. WHen you put a lot of water molecules together, they create certain types of bonds (London Dispersion Force and Dipole-Dipole) that is not strong enough to make them into a solid, but too strong to be a gas.

We are lucky. We have an atmosphere. It is atmospheric pressure that keeps water liquid, planet temp. helps too.

Look at Mars. It gets into the high 70's F. yet there's no water, 'cause there's no atmosphere to hold it in.

It is only a liquid between 32 F and 212 F...

because of strong hyrogen bonding between the water molecules.the H-bonds gives water a relativly high boiling point, so at room temperature it exists as a liquid

because when you are a liquid you can fit into anything. I wish i was a liquid. I could fit through keyholes and stuff like that but i'de have to sleep in a boottle so i dont loose myself :P
