If someone gives you a CD of a singer you hate what do you do?

and no saying go ahead and listen to it you might learn to like that sing that answer would be a cop out

The List:
Politely give it back and tell them you dont like that singer
use it as a coaster
use it as a clay pigeon
scrape gum up with it
Trade it for something you like
melt it
make the Artist on the CD eat it
throw it away

No it isnt bad manners to give something back if you feel strongly about it. Especially if you find that artist offensive.

I politely thanked my cousin for a horrid CD he gave me for x-mas. Thanked him, talked about the band's history and then gave it to a coworker who actually loved the band. Then told the coworker he could 'pay' for it by buying the next round of office coffee.

There's no point in destroying it since it was a gift. Best to just thank them and let someone else appreciate it. Plus, it's just good manners to not give it back to them and tell them you don't like it.

Well i personally like the previous list and could probably add a few however.........sadly when i have been in the same situation it usually just goes into my collection and is never seen or heard from again.

Payback. I carry a Barry Manilow cd with me at all times. When someone hands me a cd from an artist I don't want I say, "Thanks, and this is for you."

It works in all instances (unless they're a Barry Manilow fan).

trade it for something else you like. no doubt.

if you dont like it that much then the coaster, clay pigeon, gum scraper idea's dont work cuz its not even good for that. trade it for something you like. its the best way to go.
