I assume you are asking about the minimum size a lot can be to build a single-family home on. It depends on where it's located and the zoning regulations. I've see it range from 3250 to 15000 square feet, though it could possibly be higher or lower.

Talk to the local Planning & Building Department of where you're thinking of building to getthe correct size.

that really depends on what your town considers as standard. if it were chicago, "standard" for a single family house is 25 x 125 feet. but many here are on frontal footage of 35'.

if you are in a city, perhaps a call to your favorite Realtor may help. ask her what is the normal size, or "standard" single family home lot size; else, perhaps call your town's department of zoning.
