FALSE.

Your statement implies that there is equal hierarchical status to each part of the nervous system, in other words: the nerves in the hand, the brain, the tongue, the foot all communicate with each other. This is anything but the case. This is why the nervous system consists of an autonomic part, a peripheral part, and a central part - with the central nervous system (spine and brain) being the primary network that all others connect to. Everything in the nervous system feeds into the CNS and the CNS feeds back into everything. This is why brain damage is often catastrophic, but damage to a peripheral system (e.g. the hand) results in local damage rather than global (i.e. amputees can still eat, can still breathe etc).

I believe this. The nervous system is controlled by the brain. The body and the mind can never really work independently.

The other system controls involuntary movements such as, heartbeat, breathing, ect...

Yes. Consider the blush, how a mental stimulus (like an embarrassing event) causes blood to rush to your face. Look how your adrenalin raises your heart rate, constricts the capillaries and pumps oxygen into your blood stream when faced with a fight or flight situation. What isn't fully recognized is how all these things work, how these connections are supposedly tapped into by acupuncture. But yes, everything inside is connected to everything else. And to the universe, incidentally.
