There's a certain shortage of men in Russia. Many russian women want to have a family but can't find not even "right" or "good", but simply "acceptable" partner. So they seek a man abroad. At least that was a reason for me.

There are a few unscrupulous women who scam American and British men into paying for them to leave Russia but it is a tiny, tiny percentage of Russian women.
I live in Russia (although I'm not Russian) and most Russians, both men and women, are extremely proud of their country and wouldn't dream of leaving it permanently. They are right to be proud as well, it's a great country.

I think the same reasons as all women in any country. No matter from what country this woman. Believe me not all Russian women want this.

Those women who leave do that because they are opportunistic or have their true love in other country(small percentage). Those who stay are the true russian women.
All in all, russian women are great.
