This happens often. Have to love MSoft for it. No worries though. As long as you have it installed you are secure. Just keep it updated. Otherwise, as another person stated, tell the Security Center to stop notifying you. To do so, go to Control Panel, Open Security Center, click on the link under the "Resources" box that says "Change the way my security center alerts me", and uncheck "Virus Protection". As long as you have norton installed your good to go! Just keep it updated weekly.
I would do this to save the reinstall time, but can always try the reinstall and it works time to time.

Enjoy and have fun.

you have to buy norton's every year. did you install norton2004 in 2004? you may need to update.
also, i'm not sure if it's norton or mcafee, but one of them has a 900# for customer support. so try to get a techy friend to help first before calling them.

if you indeed have antivirus installed, you can tell the security center to ignore the problem and it will stop bothering you.

down load the free AVG anti virus and run a virus scan, maybe a virus is saying you don't have any virus protection, stranger things have happened. If not try re-installing your Norton software.
