I took a job with a company I previously worked. The reason I left four years ago was that the company laid me off. I emailed my old manager about 6 months ago to see if they had openings, which they didn't have at the time. Then, about 3 months ago, I was offered a position. The job is very similar to what I was doing when I left the company, and it seems like a lot of the old problems are still there as well. When I accepted the position, the manager assured me that the comany was doing well financially, making profits, etc. and that they really needed help around the office. I was going to be his "lifesaver". Things started out well, but now things seem slow. They recently laid someone off. The official reason was that they couldn't afford him. I was reassured(without me asking) that I wasn't in any danger of losing my job. The company then proceeded to hire an assistant for the sales manager. She's told me she's going crazy with nothing to do. What's going on here?

I will advise you to start looking for new job. You should submit your resume to leading jobsite like www.monster.com, www.careerbuilder.com. Also you should consult local placement consultant in your area. In the meantime, look out for an option to work online. Although it wont pay you like full time job but you can make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)

If I were you I would start looking for a job just in case. You never know you may be the next to go. You always want to be ready when something like this happens.
