Stevie Nicks wrote Landslide about growing up and finding her own way in the world. At the time she wrote it, she wasn't yet a member of Fleetwood Mac. It looked as if her singing career was never going to take off and her father suggested to her that she give it 6 more months, and then give up and go back to school. She agreed with his advice, but fortunately only 3 months later Fleetwood Mac asked her to join. And that's what she wrote the song about - growing up and making her own way in the world. She says the song is kind of addressed to her father, but also kind of not to anyone in particular.
Landslide was released by Fleetwood Mac July 1975.
