when my doc feels my belly upon a physical exam, what is it that she's looking out for?i'm 7months pregnant with the 1st and am just wondering:)

She is checking the position of the baby and the other majors to know how is the baby

The doc can usually feel the position of the baby. One of the reasons they check is to find out if the baby is head up (breech) or head down as you're approaching birth.

The Doctor can very well feel the baby. She can feel the babies movements and the head. She even catches the babies heart beat at times.

She is feeling the position of the uterus, and the size of the uterus to judge the size of the baby.

yes,doc can feel the baby.he looks for position ,lie, presentation,size,twins, any complication and accordingly plan for safe delivery.

where the head is, down, up to the side? They can feel body parts and yes how high up your uterus is.

She is checking to see how high your uterus is basically measuring it is. that is also how they determine how far along you are.
