Its not the ps2 itself because other games work on it.

have you tried other discs in the ps2? they have a rep for lasers going bad or out of alignment. check with local game store ask who repairs them locally. if it is the disc not the machine go to walmart or any Major store and get a repair disc /clean disc kit. it will have a little plastic machine you sit the disc into and a couple of pads that go in it. one is designed to polish the other repair, it will have a liquid to fill scratches included. if you are rough with discs consider trying the disc skins sold at many stores. they snap over the disc and allow it to be read while protecting the surface.

I just rescued my $60 Oblivion game for xbox 360 with a SkipDr. by Digital Innovations. It takes off the top layer off the disk to get rid of scratches then you polish it with a buffing cloth. It actually worked! This was after I destroyed a not so valuable disk testing all the BS remedies (Brasso, toothpaste, peanutbutter!) I read here and in gaming forums.

I was gonna try it then return it ($40!) but I plan to keep it in case something else gets messed up. I guess you need to weigh the price versus the investment you made in PS2 games. You can probably buy a ps2 game for $20 now, so that's 2 replacements.

Good luck!

First you could sparkling-up the disk. once you benefit this, some information written as fragments would br left on the disk. once you've defrag, there'll be areas left that you'll defrag the disk. So i might want to somewhat sparkling the disc as often as accessible (once an afternoon) and defrag the disk at the same time as the pc slows down.

take a paper towel and drip a little bit of water on your game. then lightly dab the paper towel around the game with the wet spots and when your satisfied take a dry piece of paper towel and dab it clean! or take glasses cleaner cloth and use that!
