wonder why no one told you that its not just you....... everyone can see through glass!

First off, let's get something out the way here. Glass is a highly viscous liquid -, not a solid. It's rate of flow is so slow that it would take billions of years for it to 'flow' out of shape.
You can see through glass for the same reason you can see through water. As with most liquids, the molecules are loosely spaced and simply not big enough to restrict the light passing through it.

Any materials transparency depends on the forbidden energy gap of atoms in its lattice. This is the energy gap between valence and conductance bands in crystal of a material. When u fall some kind of EM wave on such a material, then if photons of wave are having energy equal to that of forbidden energy gap, then whole of the wave will be absorbed by the material n it will be opaque to it. Now, if photon's energy is not equal to the energy gap, then whole of the wave will pass gthrough the material untouched by the electrons in the material n material will be transparent to that wave. Glass is transparent because of two reasons:-
Fiirstly it doesn't have much free electrons and secondly if there are some due to impurities, then their forbidden energy gap doesnt match that of visible light.

Because the wave lengths of light, which we use to see, pass through the molecular structure of glass. Other glass like materials may pass UV or IR without passing visible light. Materials which do not pass light react to the energy spectrum of light waves and absorb or reflect the energy.

The molecules are arranged in a lattice. Light is able to pass through the lattice so the glass is transparent.

Because unlike other opaque objects glass is transparent.light can easily penetrate through glass and hence it makes other objects visible through glass.

Because its a transparent substance, which allows light to pass through it,thus, allowing a person to see through it.An opaque object doesn't allow us to see through it, reason being light rays don't pass through it.
