Sites say that leaving a persistent image on an LCD will cause an issue after extended periods. How long is that period? Hours at a time? Days at a time on end? I've always been curious, as I just purchased an LCD monitor. Thanks!

LCD monitors are technically incapable of "burn-in". Image Persistence is normal and also temporary. You can recharge the crystals by turning off the monitor for a short period of time.

I had my screen on for an hour at a time for about a month, and it caused some very slight burns. If you use colors on your desktop that have low contrast and brightness, you can help to prevent this problem.
