i think you need to come to boston. we are much more liberal here :) we don't tell anyone to leave if they oppose the war, or bush.... but anyway, these people aren't thinking at all. most people are extremely uneducated about the war and politics as a whole, even though it effects every aspect of their lives... they don't watch CNN or listen to NPR or read the paper....they are uninformed, and therefore giving you these answers. to me, 'if you don't like it leave' is extremely un-democratic. i thought being in a democracy means always striving to do better, and make the country better for EVERYONE... and part of that means constructively evaluating what you are doing wrong on a constant basis to change it.

Lamplight, I seriously doubt that most of these people really put a whole lot of stock in what they say. It is their opinion, often stated without regard to realities.
So far as the President and his approval rating is concerned, that is about normal. When things do not go the way the people like, they yell at the President. I really wonder why we make kids go to school at all because it seems that they go brain dead almost as soon as they graduate. While the President can "want to do" something, if the Congress and Senate say "no', then no it is. The President's power is very limited. He can only do just so much. If the legislature are letting him get by with something unpopular, then it is ultimately their fault. If people want to gripe about the war, tell your Senator, and leave the President alone.

No, you should not try to find anything rational in their comments. Look at how foolish they have been. After 911 the country was willing to listen to a right-wing agenda and rally around the flag. But these neocons - and especially their Leader Bush - have been SO bitter, SO antagonistic, and SO ridiculous that they have frittered all of that political capital away.
Five years after 911, the dream of an "offensive" war on terror is dead. So is the pre-emptive war doctrine, the supremacist national security doctrine, and the very idea that America is leading the free world. To say nothing of their domestic agenda, which has been completely forgotten, even by them, after only 12 years in power.
You have to be pretty stupid to do that much damage to your own political position in that short a time. But that is the American right wing for you.

If so many people are on that side of the isle so to speak, then why do you see so many comments as you claim????
Guess that answers your question.. those numbers arent reality and thats not the majority opinion really.
Look you ask readable questions at least and you dont seem like an all bad guy.
Whats your position? what do you think should be done ( specifically ).
(BTW you keep mentioning people leaving in various posts an awful lot to be complaining about it)

I feel like telling others to leave quite often. Not because they have a different opinion than me. Not because i don't like what they say. I believe in free speech. they can say what they want. However, i get offended when i hear people bash my country. The irony of it is 9 times out of 10. The people who hate this country have not left its borders. They have no real understanding of what the rest of the world is like. No concept of how fortunate they are to live here. They are privileged and take it for granted. They criticize others instead of taking action and doing something productive.

I don't like the way you asked the question. Get out now!!!
No, seriously, I think it's sort of a knee jerk reaction on the part of many people because they don't know how to express their frustration any other way. It's a security blanket of sorts. An overused one, to be sure.
On the other hand, there is a certain amount of logic to telling someone who displays an apparent dislike for many of the basic tenets of being an American to get out if they don't like it here.

I assume you are not an American, and if thats true, mind your own business. Telling people to laeve is our way of saying, quit yer bitchin' because you have it better here than in any other country in the world. People seem to forget how good it is here, mainly because they have had it to good and have become complacent. I believe that must leave comments are made to people who deep down inside, hate their country. Call it guilt, call it whatever you'd like. If they think this country is so bad, then, by all means, go somewhere where things are more to your liking! I wouldn't go reading to much into your statistics. The left wing press puts out most of those and they poll a very very small portion of the country. Nobody thinks 200 million people should leave. Only the small percentage who are america haters.

These people are a good example of those who forget to engage brain before putting mouth in motion. If we all left This country would totally collapse economically. We pay 70% of this countries taxes With the debt the way it is These dumb asses would have to give every cent they earn to the government just to attempt to make up for the loss of what we pay in income tax

It is better to tell the traitors to leave now, than to not keep calling attention to them as being exactly what they are, idiots. America, love it or leave it. You question it, you can leave also. Bush is the only one with the balls to stand up and fight. If a Democrat had been in office during 911., we would have already been attacked many more times and be fighting them here in America, some or just born stupid and wear blinders so they do want to consider this, they are in denial.
