I heard that J.K. Rowling has already written the end to the series Harry Potter. Two main characters are going to die. Who do you think they are?

Actually there will probably be more than two characters that die in the last book of the series. She has only said that two characters will die in the final chapter that she didn't "intend" to die and also hinted that they are main characters. Due to the wording, this still means that more than 2 character could even die in the last chapter since she doesn't give us the final count.

“The final chapter is hidden away, although it’s now changed very slightly. One character got a reprieve. But I have to say two die that I didn’t intend to die,” she said in an interview on the "Richard and Judy show." “A price has to be paid. We are dealing with pure evil here. They don’t target extras do they? They go for the main characters. Well, I do.”

I think that regardless of whether or not he dies in the final chapter, I think that Hagrid will die in Deathly Hallows. I have feared this since reading Half-Blood Prince. As JKR pointed out, "In these sort of epic sagas, the hero eventually has to fight alone" and Hagrid is the only father-type figure Harry has left after losing James(father), Sirius (godfather), and Dumbledore (mentor, teacher, and substitute grandfather)--other than maybe Arthur Weasley.

As for the other main characters, I really don't think Harry, Ron, or Hermione will die in Deathly Hallows. I think that at some point Harry will have to handle Voldemort on his own though, just as he did in Sorcerer's Stone.

By the way, JKR's response to a question about which of her characters she would take to dinner (at the Evening with Carrie, Harry, and Garp Event) only fueled my fears for Hagrid and yet provided me even more hope that Harry, Ron, and Hermione will make it through the series.

I agree with Abby_Normal: Snape will sacrifice his own life to kill Voldemort and save Harry. If not Snape, then it will be Neville Longbottom.

Snape and Neville would be the least likely heroes, so one or the other will probably save the day.

It won't be Harry. I think J.K. Rowling originally had intended to kill him, as signified by her admittance when asked whether he would die that it was always a temptation to kill of the main character at the end of a series. But I don't think she will for two reasons: 1. She wouldn't admit that it was a temptation if she were truly still contemplating it. 2. Harry has become an immensely popular character with whom many people relate -- far popular than she could ever have predicted. To kill him now would be to betray all her fans and supporters. If Harry dies, the whole idea of "The Boy Who Was" will be lost, and all the hopes and dreams of Rowling's readers will be wiped away forever with a single sentence.

No, it makes a lot more sense to do the unexpected and kill someone else and let Harry live on, not as a hero or an icon, but as a normal, average wizard with a not-so-average past. I mean, come on, his parents didn't sacrifice their lives for nothing.

Lord V and Harry... I think she's set it up too well with their fates being intertwined.

One of my theories is that V made Harry his last Horcrux. As long as the one person prophesied that can take you out is alive, even if Harry kills V, the horcrux is still there. If V kills Harry, then no worries.I think once all the other horcruxes are accounted for, Harry is going to have to die in order for V to be taken out permanently. I think Dumbledore will be the one to actually kill V, since I still think the death was a set up between Snape and D to make everyone think D was no longer a factor, and entrench Snape in the Death Eaters confidences.

Snape is a double agent. Voldemort Dies, Neville is likely to be part of this last plot. Maybe Harry dies but then Rowlings would dessapoint lots of kids.
