Why is it acceptable in our society for women to be intimate together, ie. dancing together, sitting closely to one-another, touching, whereas if men were to try it with other men, they are labeled as gay or effeminate?
I think that men need to bond just as much as women do, and they usually only get to do this in sports, a safe place for suppressed homo-eroticism.
Europe seems freer, and in Italy, it is not uncommon to find men to going arm and arm down the street.
Thoughts in general to this subject of double-standard?

that's a good point, but i think why it's okay for girls is because girls are known to be feminine and friendly towards each other so it looks normally if we give each other hugs or dance with each other because it would just look like we're good friends or whatever.
I think the reason it looks weird with guys is because i guess people expect guys to be all tough and stuff and that they like to be alone so when people see guys getting intimate with others they might classify them as gay because it looks weird.

I think its just the way things are, why I don't know. I just accept it. I personally wouldn't mind watching to hot chicks kiss, but I would object to two guys kissing, but thats just me.

Well not really. We are intimate with eachother, we do talk about our deepest feelings...well, you've probably heard them already, sex, sex, love, sex, killing stuff.

it's the way society percieves it. girls will be girls and boys will be manly and play sports...
