Do you think it is likely that there will be conflict between the US and China in the future? Are they just waiting to overtake the US economically first? Will that happen, what about the US debt? Where would it start Taiwan or Korea? Who would win?

I think it's near impossible. First of all, China is inherently passive. It has occupied the same borders for almost 2000 years and is proud of it. Second of all, the two are much too closely linked economically to make any kind of conflict a profitable venture.

Essentially the only thing that could spark a conflict would be a third party incident such as Korea or Taiwan. But the thing is if Korea did start something China would be foolish to back them as they work towards a seat at the big kids table in internation politics. And as far as Taiwan, China will absorb it. It's not a question of if but when. They will absorb it and run it very similar to the way they absorbed Hong Kong. One Country, Two Systems. So in that way the U.S. would be foolish to get involved in that.

Sino-U.S. relations will develop in a way that uses China as an intermediary to most of the developing world. This is not Mao's China, they do not worship him like we're all told. They are more capitalist that the U.S. in a lot of ways and as they open up more and more will be an asset, not a threat.

It could happen one day. If it happens in the next 10 years I would say it will be sudden and with little warning. The most likely wars for the U.S. are in the mid east. But yes, I could see a conflict between the U.S. and China in the future.

yea there will b a war....and the way the chinese military has been modernizing over the last 6 years....then the US will lose without doubt.....chinese economy is growing while US economy is slowing down...the chinese navy...air force...2nd artillery...and space are improving so much that the pentagon is very worried and recently rice said to explain the chinese military buildup...the chinese are saying its for defensive purposes saying taiwan conflict is the reason but we all know it is for a US conflict over taiwan or more probably it will be for energy resources!!!! in the next 5-10 years the chinese navy...air force....2nd artillery will b stronger than the US in quality and quantity....but in space...the US will have the edge but the gap is closing....and the chinese army will be equal in terms of quality over the US and superior in quantity....this is not the old china....this buildup is cause of HUGE russian...ukraninan....and european help.....and through espionage of US high tech weapons and finding countermeasures for them and build better weapons than that!!! the US can say all they want but lets have a reality check....china is so close to a superpower....china's political power is growing fast!!! so in about 15-20 years we will have 2 superpowers....and on the fringes will be india and even russia .....i have studied the chinese growth and russian growth so i know!!!

No not likely as long as our government officials keep their hands out of their fortune cookie jar. And since they are now in allegiance with Israel I highly doubt that China would turn on us. But then again who knows? They are pretty decent now but we don't really know do we, what lies in the shadows of permissiveness and greed, there are many widespread dangers in the minds of mankind.

Why is everyone so worried about the Economy in China... our #1 trade partner is canada, and by now more than 60% of U.S. goods are no longer made by 'china' but now more in other asian countries and african countries.

Not likely. The scenario is much the same as with the former soviet union, there would be no clear winner, just billions of dead.
