I have two questions 1)Ok sometimes around the head of my penis i feel an itch and later the area near the head of the penis turns a light red or light pink color. But the next day the color goes away along with the itching. 2) Also sometimes in my genital area mainly on the inner thigh, the skin becomes puffy and turns pink and it hurts a little bit when i touch it but a few hours later the puffy skin goes away.
I've never had sex so I don't think it is an STD. Should I talk to my doctor about this?
Thanks

I think that it may be able to be resolved with an antifungal cream, it may be a rash that devolops due to warm or sweaty conditions, I would try that or speak with a doctor

It could be a heat rash, jock itch or a yeast infection. Wash the area with warm soapy water, be sure to rinse it well and pat dry and keep the area dry. It will also help to wear white cotton underware.

You can buy over the counter medications to treat jock itch and yeast infections. If these meds and cleaning methods don't work, or you begin to notice it getting worse or you begin running a fever, then you need to see a doctor.

Quick note: You might also consider the type of soap/washing powder or other fabric softner you are using. This could be a result of an allergic reaction. I suggest using a soap that has no fragrance to it. Hope you feel better soon.

Some things get transmitted non-sexually -- it is rare, but it can happen.

If you have good hygiene habits and you make everything perfectly clean down there at least once a day, then I would recommend that you see a doctor (or start with the school nurse, if you are still in high school -- and don't worry about being embarrassed, because nurses have seen everything there is to see, believe me!).

If you do not have consistently very good hygiene habits, then you probably only need to wash things up better (plenty of soap and water, and make sure your rinse away ALL of the soap residue, AND go gently with the washcloth so that you do not create a whole new sensitivity problem). Good luck!

dont worry, man. it's just a fungal infection.

go easy on it and dont try to put any medicine. This happens due to excess sweating and also if you wear wet briefs. As far as the redness in the head of the penis, make sure you are wering proper briefs. Not too tight or rough.

Wash the area regularly(atleast once a day) and after letting it dry, apply some anti-fungal powder around the area and in your briefs.

Do this regularly.

im guessing its probably just normal (id put money on chaffing from sweating and moving a lot) but its possible to have caught an STDfrom a public toilet, but it is more likely (than an STD) that it is some kind of fungal infection like jock it. if it doesn't go away on its own within a reasonable amount of time, talk to your doctor.

Ok I got this from "ask yahoo" to clear up the whole std from toilet seat thing.

"To my knowledge, no one has ever acquired an STD on the toilet seat -- unless they were having sex on the toilet seat!" according to Dr. Abigail Salyers, president of the American Society for Microbiology, quoted on WebMD.

"It's OK to sit down. Most organisms that cause STDs will not survive for long on a toilet seat," notes Dr. Sherry Marts, scientific director of the Society for Women's Health Research, on the Swedish Medical Center's site.

As Columbia University's Health Promotion Program sums up: "Because toilet seats are not major culprits in spreading disease, paper or plastic seat covers offer little more than peace of mind." In fact, you have more to fear from bathroom door handles and faucets than from commodes.

Now, to your actual question, I'd say go with Lone Walker's answer.

Hmmm... I would see a doctor. It may be a yeast infection. It isn't very common in men but it can happen. Go see your doctor to be sure.

Don't go to a doctor for advice, instead go to a girl to sleep with.
