The freedom of speech. The right to travel unmolested. The right to innocence until proven guilty. The right to peaceful protest. Warrantless search and seizure. The loss of your right to practice religion freely and openly.

With suspicion of everyone all around the terrorists have won. You lose.

To have freedom we must have laws that protect us from terror at home and on the street. When the government has to change the laws it's because something has happened to change the whole scene. Currently personally I'm living my life the same as ever. There might be cameras watching me go to the ATM....or someone might be listening to my conversation when I call anyone but to tell the truth if somehow these tools protect the whole country then let it be. If someone is caught doing something that might harm the majority then I'm all for doing what the government feels is necessary. Our world is not like it was when the constitution was written. Everything is upside down. We have to roll with the flow. Make changes when it's necessary. At the same time protect our rights as citizens. It's a hard balance but the safety of the majority rules. If not we are sitting ducks. Terrorism attacks all of us not just a few.

Well the one that upsets me is the one where we use to be able to go to the airport and send out loved ones off (and pick them up) as they boarded the plane AT THE GATE. I miss that the most. I am sure there are a few more out there, but that is the one that has effect me the most.

I would justify killing off any country that supports terror.

Excuse me, but I have yet to see a law that can protect me from terror. Terror is an emotion. Terror is extreme fear. There is no law under God that can protect a person from fear! (Some people fear dogs, others fear the sky is falling....)
As for protecting people from TERRORISM: All the laws that were needed were already on the books. I'm sure that it was already illegal to blow up Federal buildings, shoot a dozen of your classmates and teachers, kill hundreds of people on an airplane with you and crash planes into buildings!
Now our conversations can be monitored, our mail opened, our private lives delved into, etc. on SUSPICION! If there is anything to be afraid of, this snooping is it!
And, I can hear you saying it, if I don't have anything to hide, why do I care?? I care because this is America!! The Land of the Free! Where I should be able to have privacy. Where I am supposed to be innocent until proven guilty. Where we are supposed to be moral leaders, not torturers. Where we are supposed to care about human rights....(in fact, don't we "punish" other nations by withholding our "business" if they have human rights violations?? Oh, yeah, right...I forgot, China is exempt from that......)

edit: I love it when I get "thumbs down" for speaking the truth!

Actually none unless one is involved in terrorists activities or a terrorists organization. For everyday, law abiding Americans, no right has/will be lost.

I haven't lost any freedoms due to the war on terror.
We lost the freedom of speech when the liberals wanted everyone to be politically correct.

It's the liberals who are trying to take our freedoms away with their quest for socialism & communism . Why do you think they coddle the enemy and berate our troops while they are dodging bullets ? I'm sick of them putting our troops on the defensive while they fight for liberty & freedom .God Bless "W".
