One can hope, but I doubt it.
Since so many people seem so obsessed with maximum security, we might as well all line up and get our subcutaneous tracking ID chips.
What? You think they don't already exist? You can get them for your dog!
Lock up the borders! Step right this way.
Careful what you say in your sleep; you might get reported for thoughtcrime.

During the revolutionary war, which was basically because the rich didn't want to pay taxes to england, All kinds of poorer folk were out here sacrificing themselves. When asked why the drive(without which we'd have lost), they said, believing in natural law, it was for freedom and liberty.
There was laughter on both sides on the ocean about that.
Our freedoms are a state of mind. If you believe it, it is so and vice versa!
Be the person you want 'them' to be and you will sleep better at night which will help you during the day to write many many letters. And stop $upporting them in your purchases, of course.

Oh hogwash you haven't lost any liberties and neither have I, Their are trials going on everyday, the privacy act only in tails conversations with in terrorists organizations, they are not going to listen to your petty conversations with you friends. they have been listening to wire taps since before WW2, stop listening to those stupid Liberal Democrats. Who cares about the dam passports, maybe it will keep more people out. And what territories are you talking about. If you are a U.S. citizen you can go to U.S. territories.

One, it isn't "Bush's war." It is our country's war. You don't fight for a President; you fight for a country regardless of who the President is. Second, I haven't lost any liberties. I still have the right to trial if I need one; I didn't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico when I went recently, I haven't lost any right to privacy, which is NOT guaranteed to us in the Constitution. Finally, you can't be free without being safe. It's not possible.

I seriously doubt that will happen because the reason those laws were passed is because of the War on Terrorism. Terrorism can never be deafeated, it is literally impossible. I would love to see the next president void the terrorism laws, but why would the president void those laws when it gives the people in the government so much power?

When Congress is done with this war... after all, they vote to continue it heh.. and wow, what liberties have you lost? The only thing that worries me is the pentagon making active duty in Iraq for 24 months, then immediantly sending troops back for another 24 months legal.

Dear Can of Beans as your profile states. If you get your self and your other illegals family back to Mexico, we will be happy. In the US we have freedom. We do have right to a trial. Passports are necessary to help weed out terrorist and Beaners like yourself . We still have our privacy rights are we would not be able to log on here and we have freedom of speech or you would not be on here. If you do not like Bush and the American way of safety for Americans, then please stay in Mexico or if your in the US, go home. No one will miss you.

Right to a trial? You got arrested for something and haven't been tried, but you have Internet access? That's some jail.
Ability to travel to US territories without passports? What is it with Dems and IDs? I hope that stays - we need to keep better track of who is coming and going - yes, even in our territories. Terrorists attack American interests elsewhere all the time.
Privacy rights? Who violated your privacy rights? If you were talking to someone in Al Qaeda, or Hamas, you are a threat to this country and shouldn't expect any privacy. Besides, privacy is only an illusion these days. Anyone who is interested enough can find out practically everything about you.
I see it totally differently. I see Liberals as the biggest threat to my rights. Why? They try to tell me what I should drive, never bothering to find out if I might - work with me here - actually NEED a big truck. We own a small farm - farms need trucks. We have a tractor, too. Is that bad?
They tell us not to hunt. I don't personally hunt, but I reap the benefits from having many friends and family members who do. Our freezer always has moose in it. Sometimes sheep and caribou, too. So what if the hunter takes a trophy? The meat gets eaten. Only a moron wastes good meat. Besides, game is much, much healthier. Our beef supply is full of hormones and antibiotics. Have at it - but I'll keep my moose, thanks.
They tell us where to smoke. I'm an ex-smoker and I really hate the smell of cigarettes. But - they ARE legal and people who smoke DO have rights, too. Hell, they won't even leave it up to a business owner to decide if he/she wants to allow smoking - what about THEIR rights?
They tell us not to trap, or wear fur. Well, too bad. Most people I know who trap, trap for the money. It's been a way of life here LONG before you or I came along. It's a cultural tradition here, going straight back to the Natives. Fur is not only a renewable resource, it's non-toxic and does not pollute the environment. How much pollution is put into our environment by all these fancy, high-tech materials?
They say we shouldn't log. Forest management is a necessity - just look at how awful the fires in California have been. Mother Nature has always used fire as a way to keep the forest healthy - we can either do it ourselves, and not have such horrible fires, or she'll take care of it. Instead of wasting all that wood AND polluting the environment with all that smoke, why shouldn't someone make a living off of it?
Liberal teachers say they don't have time to raise our kids - and they're right, they don't. So why are so many children being taught liberal propaganda? A little boy on my husband's side of the family was riding along with his grandmother a couple of years ago. They passed a man cutting down a dead, rotten tree, and the poor kid burst into tears. Gran asked him what was wrong, and he replied, "That man is cutting down that tree! We're all going to die!" Where did he learn that? SCHOOL.
My nephew lives in a very small town and is growing up in a very typical small-town Alaska manner. He hunts, fishes, and traps. When he was six, his parents had to go down to the school - some liberal moron was lecturing this kid because he likes to hunt and trap. Gee, you're right - it would be *so* much better if he just sat in front of a television every night, lost for hours in a video game.
My best friend pulls her sons out of school each fall to go moose hunting with their father. She had to go to THEIR elementary school more than once to tell a liberal teacher to mind their own damned business - the boys were given a bad time because they hunt. That's total BS.
Liberals only support freedom of speech if it is speech they agree with. Just look at how poorly INVITED Conservative speakers are treated on colleges all across the country. Hell, I'm a right-leaning Libertarian who works for a university - diversity my ***. I know of 5 other right-leaning employees - and I've worked in 6 different departments. And trust me - politics always comes up.
We didn't decorate for "the holidays" last year, or hold our annual "holiday" party. (We're not allowed to call it Christmas. Damn - what's that about freedom of speech? Or religion? Hmmm.) Why didn't we? A far-left nut job professor had a screaming fit at her admin the year before. Why? Because I actually had the nerve to put an ornamant on the "holiday" tree that said (this would be a good time to get the children out of the room) "Merry Christmas". Yep, that's right - the "C" word. Right out there for all to see. This hag THREW the ornament at her admin, screaming (we could hear it down the hall) "THIS HAS NO PLACE ON A UNIVERSITY CAMPUS!" Really? So, I guess that diversity thing only applies to non-Christians?
Look what the ACLU did for NY schools. It's perfectly okay to display the Jewish Menorah, or the Muslim Star and Crescent - RELIGIOUS SYMBOLS - in public schools, but don't you dare have a Nativity scene.
WHO'S trampling on our rights?!?
Hypocrisy, thy name is liberal....
