You will find the first year the hardest...only because the learning regimine is so different from high school.
Believe me, it's worth it all the way.....better employment available, more self-confidence....and the parties...did I mention the parties?
The most fun I have had in my life happened in University.

Eh, not too hard. It can be a lot of work in the last week or two of a semester when all four of your classes are having finals and want a final paper and they are all due at the same time. I would work myself into getting it all done and then have a hard time coming down from that.
I remember in high school wanting to study Spanish, too, in college as a minor perhaps, but the language didn't come easy to me and I thought college Spanish would be too hard. When I finally broke down in my junior year and took a "conversation" class, I realized it wasn't any harder than any other subject I had taken. It made me regret not having taken more Spanish classes. So, college isn't as hard as we think it might be once we get there.
I noticed that by the time my friends and I were seniors, we were itching about still being in school. We were ready to go out and get jobs and make money, as if that happens right away. We were so tired of it after less than four. If whatever it is that you want takes you more than ten years and you want it badly enough, you'll be able to stick with it and get it done.

Nobody can answer that question- but YOU. Because everybody experiences college differently. My University experience started out as a nightmare- until about 2 years in, I realised I was trying too hard & listening to too many peoples advice! Once I relaxed alittle & took the courses I wanted WHEN I wanted them- I actually DOUBLED my gradepoint average in two semesters. I worked like a dog; but I did it on MY terms & it was a heck of alot more fun. So don't worry about it. Enjoy the "ride" pace yourself, get what you can out of the experience, -and those 10 years will fly like you WON'T believe! Good luck!

Just keep in mind that one semester course in college = 1 year of high school coursework. It can be easy and it can be hard. It depends on the colege you're going to and it depends on your study habit. If you want that A you'll have to work on it. Good luck. Make sure you have some social life and not just sticking your eyes on the textbooks.

It was worth every second. If you think college is hard, try conisdering a life w/o an education and/or formal training, that seems much more scary! Good luck. It will go by quicker than you think.
Also, you must be planning on getting an MD, JD, or Phd if going that long, otherwise, ?????????

College is one of those situations in life that can really get you. If you are planning on being a doctor or something (you DID say that you were going for 10 years), than yes; if you are just going for your bachelors, than it's really just another learning experience.

I don't think it's too bad...I'm about a quarter away from graduation with a Bachelor's. and I plan to go for a Masters as well.
Studying for tests gets old after a while, but it's doable. I don't know about 10 years though...
