The senators will not win the cup with their present roster. They are weak defensively and they need a better goaltender. They do have a good offensive team but in hockey like most sports "good defence" coupled with good offence, goaltending and team play, wins championships. Ottawa comes up short on at least 2 of those. The best team in the eastern conference is the Buffalo Sabres. No one will beat them this year.
Ottawa is playing hot as of late and the Habs are not. Ottawa is playing at home. The nod goes to Ottawa to win this afternoon. Ottawa is 8-1-1 in their last 10. Montreal is 4-5-1 and the game is in Ottawa. Ottawa wins by one goal.

Well since its after the mentioned game right now, and the Sens took the Habs to school I would say the sens are going to win the game, but as for the cup? only if their defence can get healthy and stay healthy will they stand a Chance.

Depends on whos in the line up to beath the Habs or to go the cup. Emery is a good goalie but there still things he needs to be better at, like moving around in the net. Redden and Phillps need to be steady all the time. Fisher , Neil and Eves seem like the good to go but they need to make sure they dont get hurt and other players should watch that. And I think they need to new Captian , sry Aflie But its time to go to the rangers or somewhere else . Ottawa needs a captian where there good at almost every game. Heaters looking great. So i think with some few adjustments they sens might have a chance, just not this year.

Will Ottawa Senators do any of the two above mentioned conditions, I think not. I believe that the Ottawa Senators are the next failures as are the Toronto Maple Leafs have disappointed fans around the country sine 1967.

No, the Sens are not going to win the Cup. Emery is not a good goalie at all. Teams will figure that making him move makes him an easier target to score upon than most goalies, and he doesn't position himself well.
Now if the offense were to slump, that will spell the end of Ottawa's season.
To Jennifer C - Emery isn't good at all. He's very poor at moving with the play, positioning, and following the play. He is athletic, however, and that makes up for some of his short comings, but Ottawa's defense is enough that it can cover for these issues. But a goalie can't depend on how well he recovers when he has to after almost any passing sequence.

No, Alfredsson and company will choke like they always do. They don't even have a solid goalie. Hell, they need to GET a goalie first before making a Cup run. As for today's game, maybe, depending on who's starting for the Habs.

very very last season all and distinct idea Detroit became going to win because they were first interior the league; yet they did not. in uncomplicated words because Anaheim and Buffalo are first and 2d, it does not propose the range of two will win the cup. Montreal has an somewhat solid danger. bypass HABS bypass
