elizabeth, emily, madison, and abby

My husband really wants a classic name. I would really appreciate any help.

I think Madison Elizabeth would be a really neat combination. I just found out a couple of weeks ago that I'm pregnant with my third baby and my husband and I are seriously considering that name if it's a girl. We were also considering Madison Jade. I think that would a nice combination of classic and modern. Not too trendy, but not too old fashioned either. My first two daughters' names are Taylor Meshelle and Makayla Anne if that's any help at all. Do you know for sure it's a girl? Just in case you might need a boy name, We really like Michael Wayne or something with Matthew. Hope this helps you out. Good luck and Congrats on the new baby.

abby was on the top on my list. We didn't go with it in the end, but I did have a lot of good feedback from people on the name. Most people said to go with the traditional name Abigail, even though I will TOTALLY agree with you that it is not as nice at this point in time as Abby, and then allow the name Abby be the nickname and the name she commonly is known by. This way, she will have options later with her name as opposed to being stuck with what sounds to be a nickname. Abigail may the a totally sexy name 20 yrs from now! Anyway, I hated this advice too when I first heard it, but it really did make sense after I thought about it more and more.

Bottom line... out of the names you posted here, I like Abby the best and Emily second, but consider the popularity of Emily right now and in recent years before choosing this because she WILL know a TON of Emily's growing up.

No to Madison. anything that ends in -son is phonetically a boys name (= "son of...").

I am neutral on Elizabeth. It's definitely classic.

My full name is Emily Anna Madison. I've always loved my full name. I know that right now Emily and Madison are very popular first names for girls. My first name was my paternal great grandmothers' and my middle name was my maternal great grandmothers'. They're both very classic names, and I guess I just got lucky with a good last name. Maybe Emily Madison (last name) That probably sounds egotistical, and while i don't mean it to, i do think the names are lovely together.

Best of luck, and Congratulations!

Except for Madison, all of those names are classic, although you could probably substitute Abigail for Abby as the baby's full legal name. Your names go together pretty well too. You could have Abigail Madison or Emily Elizabeth.
