Whoa.
Strongly suggest you go immediately into Safe Mode and run your Norton antivirus and spy doctor.
To get into Safe Mode,
click Restart
As soon as you see the black & white screen and before Windows is loaded, press and hold the F8 key until a b&W DOS menu is displayed.
I think Safe Mode is either F3 or F5.
Run the programs
When they are finished, Restart.
You will probably find your desktop in disarray. Not to worry. Just drag everything back into place.
With luck this will do it.

Even for an expert, to remove a virus properly from a computer is often a daunting task without the help of specific tools designed for the job. Some viruses and other unwanted software (which includes spyware) are even designed to reinstall themselves after they have been detected and removed! Fortunately, if you update your computer and use free, trial-period, or low-cost antivirus tools offered by many companies, you can help permanently remove (and prevent) unwanted software.
Steps to help remove a virus:
1.
Visit the Protect Your PC site and install the latest updates.
2.
If you currently use antivirus software, visit the manufacturer's Web site, update it, and then perform a thorough scan of your system. If you don't currently use antivirus software, subscribe to a service and scan your system immediately.
3.
Download, install, and run the Malicious Software Removal Tool (for Microsoft Windows XP or Windows 2000 users). Note that this tool does not prevent viruses from infecting your system; it only helps to remove existing viruses.

OK it said you have a virus , have 1. quarantined the virus, 2. removed the virus, 3. rescanned the PC to be sure it is gone. if you haven't then guess what you are still infected. BTW Norton and spy Dr are not the best. go to cnet.com get avast they offer 60 days free and it caught 20 things that Norton's didn't. it also alerted me when logmein accessed my PC to be sure i knew while Norton was happily running and un-aware. i ended up removing Norton's all together.

Now days spy wares and antivirals removes any virus even if it is unknown. But these softwares do not remove any messages that are generated from the registry.
Your computer is safe and doesn't have any virus. It's the message left by the virus disturbing you.
Usually anti virus doesn't remove these messages because these messages are modified form of windows product. Only way to remove this is manually from registry.

Hi just run the antivirus, and let it do a full scan. After that it will give u the option to either quarantine, block, or remove virus. Any of those options will work.
