I have not only lived in Louisville, but still live in the metro area. I've also traveled to many cities throughout the U.S. Frankly, Louisville sucks! The freeway system is pretty good, but becoming worse as the state refuses to improve and widen our roads. The park system is beautiful, but quickly becoming even MORE infested with drugs and lude sexual activity. The people are some of the nastiest, mannerless, most impolite anywhere I've visited or lived (the only place I've encountered that's worse is Chicago.) So, what is Southern hospitality in Louisville, and does it exist? (I think not.) Go just three hours to Nashville, or better yet, further down to Texas to find REAL hospitality. I have been mocked repeatedly b/c of my Southern accent! Also, downtown, except for the same ol' national-chain bars on 4th St., is dead after 5pm.

This is a non-native metro Louisvillian's perspective.

I'm ready to a REAL Southern city, like Nashville, Birmingham, Austin, or Fort Worth, for example.

I can agree with the man who said "Dallas." Been there once--would choose Ft. Worth/Arlington over Dallas/Plano anyday!

the finest clarification is that Louisville is a Midwestern city in a Southern state. contained in the previous, Louisville had a huge type of German immigrants to boot as many Roman Catholic Irish immigrants like different Midwestern cities. Louisville is likewise a city with motor vehicle flora and different production flora equivalent to different Midwestern cities. something of the state of Kentucky also thinks of Louisville as a city it really is not very like something of the state. besides the actual incontrovertible fact that Louisville is the state's greatest city, there hasn't ever been a governor from Louisville elected to that place of work. one component to observe is that White citadel eating places (in cities alongside with Chicago, Detroit, & Cincinnati) are considered to be in northern cities at the same time as Krystal eating places (in cities alongside with Atlanta, Birmingham, & Nashville) are considered to be in southern cities. Louisville has no Krystal's yet has numerous White citadel's. an exciting incontrovertible fact that's usually neglected is that Louisville is in direction of Windsor, Ontario, Canada than that's to Atlanta, Georgia, US. maximum of Kentucky would nicely be southern, yet Louisville is an exception.

I used to live in Louisville. I really liked. I go there about every 3 years as my brother lives there. If you want to meet some real jerks move to Dallas.

Chattanooga is great. I wish I could get a job there.
