I am going to train some shetland ponies for hunter/jumper. I would like to know how much weight they can hold. I weigh about 113 lbs. They are sord of big shetlands too.

I think as long as you're not on them all day without rest, they'll be fine. You might want to look around on google or yahoo to make sure. It also depends on what kind of shetland they are, I think the American ponies can hold more, though I'm not sure.

I rode one a jiffy back for form of 10 minutes and that i'm 9 stone, some thing like 127 kilos. the horse looked as if it would carry me truly tremendous, yet I felt somewhat accountable driving some thing that if I shifted sideways truly i grow to be touching the floor, and keep your centre of stability on them is not difficulty-free - so as that is were given to be taken under consideration, it truly is not any longer only the burden that's stability aswell.

Animals up to size 12.2 hands can hold up to 119lbs. Although, Shetlands are really strong and could probably do fine 140lbs.

you're not too heavy for them, just try to stay off the tack in a 2 point sometimes to give them a break. Also, you shouldn't have anyone over say 130 ride them for more than 15 min. Good luck!
