I do, if you have a job and can pay for it yourself. It is a responsiblity that comes with a contract and I am sure you cost enough already.

Problem with children nowadays is that parents buy them cell phones and then not use it responsibly. They run up the phone bill and make their parents pay for their personal conversations with their homies, girlfriends, etc.

If you think your mom should get you a cell phone, how about offering her to pay for your cell phone bills? That's the least you can do. That way you'll share the expenses, and in order to do that, you can either save your allowance or get a job to support your increasingly demanding lifestyle without putting additional burden on anybody.

It's up to your mom. As a parent, I love being able to call my daughter anytime. I love her being able to call me on my cell, or at home, whenever she needs to. But implicit in all that is the need for her to be responsible. Like the recent TV commercials said during the holidays, "Kid, you'll run the bill up!" That's a real possibility--our daughter's carelessness cost us more than $50/a month extra a couple of months ago. She worked that off doing extra work around the house without getting paid for it--but the bill has stayed down since.

If its so your parent can always keep in touch with you im all for it. But if you go over on your minutes your cell bill can get up into the hundreds of dollars. Do you think they would let you keep it if that happened?

Me! Mrs. Alonzo M's mom, cell phones can provide an easy access for emergencies, such as needing you to pick Alonzo up, or if Alonzo needs to call the police. Plus, she can talk to her friends

since you gave no details about how old yu are or whether or not you are going to pay for it or why yu need it I would say NOT because the obvious lack of any of that information means that you are just fishing for yes answers otherwise you would have presented yur entire case instead of just fishing.

depends on your age....if you're under like.....13.....shut up and stop whining...if you're over it...and you have a legitimate reason, i agree with you...no i'm not a parent...just someone who knows this area very well...if they've said no more than twice, you'll need a good argument to get it :)
