Plain and simple, blind loyalty. The democrats close their eyes to the wrongs of their party while criticizing others. A great example is Louisiana Democrat William Jefferson taking bribe money.

Sheets Bird has been in office for a long time. Most Americans vote in the incumbent back into office. Americans are poorly educated on the political process. Most cannot even state why we went into Iraq.

I dont know alot about him but watching the arms committee meeting and how he couldn't do anything but read from a piece of paper and had no ability to address any comments by Gates . I cant see how he has the ability to be a contributing factor to the govt and especially be a good chair to the appropriations committee. I am eagerly looking forward to an appropriations committee meeting to see if my assessment is correct...

Because too many don't have a clue who they are actually voting for. They see party affiliation and think THATS THE GUY FOR ME!!!
Proves there should be a test given before you allowed to vote, make sure you know who you are voting for.

The democratic party doesn't hold their candidates to any sort of moral standards. They rally around and support their criminals (Stubbs, Jefferson and the ABSCAM crew) instead of holding them accountable and reminding them of the responsibility that comes with being a representative of the people in Congress.
