Slipknot is not coming back. Corey Taylor and Jim Root are now fully dedicated to Stone Sour (a much better band, I believe) and there will not be any further records put out by Slipknot.

corey and jim are real busy with stone sour
the good success they are having, probably makes the delay longer
i hear slipknot are to regroup in the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008
and release a new album in 2008
slipknot have not broken up

Actually, I don't really know if they will be back, but if you buy their new DVD (which you should, it's awesome--don't listen to haters) At the end of the book thingy it says "Now It's Over" & I heard today that they are done, but I hope not that would suck.

I dont know when they will be back..but if you are thinking of getting their new dvd...dont it sucks..i bought it for $20 and sold it for $5....yes it was that bad..
